Review Schema Markup

Code added to a website to help search engines understand review data.

What is Review Schema Markup?

Review Schema (part of Schema.org) is a specific vocabulary of tags (or microdata) that you can add to your HTML to improve the way search engines read and represent your page in SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages).

Benefits

Implementing review schema allows Google to display Rich Snippets — the gold stars and rating counts underneath your search result. This can increase Click-Through Rate (CTR) by 20-30%.

Key Properties

  • ratingValue: The score (e.g., 4.5).
  • reviewCount: Total number of reviews.
  • bestRating: Usually 5.
  • worstRating: Usually 1.
